Woohoo….I made it! Today got a little out of sorts; I needed to make some changes to my podcatcher to prioritize DDOP. Changes that I already discussed on the DDOP Facebook group, but I didn’t actually implement. Doh! Thankfully, I managed to manually download enough of the Dog Days podcasts that I had something to reply to! Sunday will be better. 🙂

Day 3 of DDOP! My pre-scheduling of podcasts is going well and in fact continuing. So far, I’ve been able to keep up with all of the DDOP episodes, and I reflect on the notion of First Wave podcasters mentioned by David Jacobs on the Lavender Pony Show. I also express excitement about the theme of Justin Diehl’s Hiddennode. Good times! I look forward to continuing a back and forth with other DDOPers!

I threw a link to a couple of my old podcasts in…my first podcast, Walking to *$, and then also Episode 1 of KAZ. I will *not* be putting them in the feed, though. I listened to them. Ow.

Day 2 of the Dog Days of Podcasting…this one is a car episode. A quick discussion of the fact that my scheduling of episode publishing seems to be working OK, and also talk about DDOP Episode 1, by Michael Butler. I also make a commitment to become a Patreon subscriber to Butler’s Rock and Roll Geek Show! See ya tomorrow.

Anddddd….here’s Dog Days!! Our first episode of the 2016 Dog Days of Podcasting; it’s a quick one, but I’m trying to get things started on the right foot. Looking forward to a new year of DDOP!

Update: 6/8/2016 — Criminy! I let another 6 weeks pass!! I’m putting this thing up now, without any further comment. I actually have another one that I recorded near the end of April; I’m going to try and get that saved and publish it tomorrow. *fingers crossed*

Update: 4/26/2016 — This baby has been in the can for almost a month! I decided at the last minute today to just knock up a draft for it on the mobile WP app while eating lunch! In this case, I do at least remember the topic…the cook-it-yourself food delivery service Blue Apron. (which I have since stopped my subscription on, but I still recommend!)

Seeing as I took a week to get this podcast out, these notes may be a little…vague. *sigh* So, it had been a month since the previous episode, so I talked about going to Duke for the Pitt game, Duke’s general football woes, work going ok so far in the New World Order…what else? Ah, I know I talked about our Pathfinder campaign that we’re about to start; I’m looking forward to hopefully starting that this weekend!

(I found my notes)

Ah…New Year’s resolution-y goodness, yeah, I remember that. And I mentioned the Duke basketball game we were going to (which has since happened, and was way fun!), and the semi-secret project that hasn’t yet moved forward. Ah well. So, a good podcast, go listen!

It’s been a couple of weeks, so there’s plenty to talk about. Charlotte and I had a great time at Duke’s Countdown to Craziness; hopefully a good season is coming up. No further updates on the Chromecast, as I’ve been taking an XBox One with the to Atlanta the past couple of weeks. Destiny (and the Republican debate) are great distractors. It’s been a little stressful, as my boss of the last 15 years accepted a separation package, and is retiring to south Florida. Zoinks! Times, they are a changin’…

Finally, I set up my new Nexus 5X on Project Fi last night; so far, so good! Nice phone, and I look forward to better coverage at home.

I think we might have found a schedule! Wednesdays sound good, so let’s unpack our navel-gazing over why it’s such a good idea. *grin* After that, let’s once again give the “Mad at Dad” podcast props, because the first episode was super enjoyable. I expect to listen to the next episode tomorrow on the way home, and I can’t wait. I also discuss my trials and tribulations with my Moto E, and how close I came to just throwing in the towel and buying a (shiny!) Nexus 5X. Then I found out from the Ting phone support guy that I could flip the “Cellular Data” toggle and get cellular data again…DOH!

Finally, I mention our upcoming weekend trip to Durham for Duke’s “Countdown to Craziness” basketball event, that both Charlotte and I are really looking forward to. I’m sure we’ll have fun stories to recount next week!

It took a couple of weeks, but I’m back…hopefully, we’ll get this thing scheduled properly sooner or later. In this episode, I talk about several podcasts I’ve added recently (Wil Wheaton, Paul Fidalgo, Brian Hogg, Dave Slusher, and Michael Butler represent!), the Duke-Ga Tech football game and our trip to see it in Durham, my wife Charlotte’s birthday, the soggy weather we had this past weekend, and our collective ‘meh’ with the movie “Moon” that we watched on Saturday.
