Well…once again I crash and burn at the end of the Dog Days! Kreg was nice enough to leave the master feed running so that Charlotte and I could both get a wrap-up episode out, though…thanks, Kreg! I express how much I’ve enjoyed the DDOP this year, I share the new podcast (His and Her Geekery) that Charlotte and I will be starting, and chat a little about Dragon Con and the trip. For those listeners that are only from DDOP, have a great year, and we’ll see you again next August! Or…c’mon over and subscribe! 🙂
Two hours until I’m on vacation…and then it’s DRAGON CON TIME! *grin* I ramble a bit about the first signs of DC in Atlanta every year, talk about trying to get together with some folks at Battle and Brew tomorrow, and describe a little surprise that I just completed for my lovely wife! Talk to you tomorrow!
Five days left…let’s have some DDOP fun! I talk about folks already checking in for Dragon Con today (“Monday is the new Thursday…”), I ramble on for much longer than I intended about my Pokemon walk today, then I talk about food…specifically, onions! I do love an onion on a sandwich; even to the point of an onion sandwich. Tasty! Finally, I talk a bit about sleep…my experience with CPAPs, the healthy sleep formula, my use of nose strips, and my recent purchase of a snore aid device. Talk to you again tomorrow!
Happy Sunday! I’m caught up, and tonight I discuss marriage and how my life has changed with Charlotte. In a good way. A happily amazing good way! Plus, #BonusBeerOfTheMoment….Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter!
DDOP episode 24…which means I’m a day behind again! *sigh* A long day of yard work yesterday got things started in that hectic way that weekends go. I was lying in bed before I realized I hadn’t done a podcast, and unlike Dave Slusher, I just rolled over and fell asleep. 🙂
I talked a bit about the yard work of the past couple of days, and tried to wrap up before the dogs went insane…that didn’t quite work. I hope the ending isn’t *too* jarring as they noticed a squirrel or something outside and decided to defend the Homeland. I’m intending on catching up tonight, so I’ll chat again in a few hours!
Next to last Friday of the Dog Days! I realize at this point next week we’ll be hip-deep in Dragon Con, so I review our (wacky) Dragon Con schedule. Feel free to touch base if you’re around and want to game or eat or drink or just hang out! I believe I will get to my marriage discussion tomorrow, though, Tabitha. It’s on the schedule. 🙂
Whew! Another bear of a commute today; traffic outside of Charlotte was backed up from an accident. I’m dog tired, but I wanted to get out another episode and get back in the thick of things! I told Chiaki how emotional the story of his co-dogwalker made me, and expressed my enjoyment of Mark’s audio drama, “Note to self at age 7”.
Just a little car episode…I hit episode 150 today, but I also missed posting an episode last night! I just crashed out at the townhouse after a long drive and a busy day. I’m going to do my best to get both this and another episode out today, just to get back in sync. It doesn’t change the fact that I missed a day, but at least I’ll be back in the correct numbering scheme!
I was planning on replying to Tabitha’s request for discussion about marriage, but I’m postponing it a day. Instead, I had a few “slice of life” moments to share. 1) My bluetooth headset has died! It sucks; I have a backup, but it’s pretty janky; I need to get a new one. 2) I have come up with an excellent way to listen to podcasts while working; I Google Cast them to the TV! Great audio, and no bluetooth connection issues (there they are again!) to the phone. It still distracts me a tiny bit, but for whatever reason, it doesn’t seem to bother me as badly from the TV. (this may indicate that I’m a chlid of the 70s and 80s…). 3) I’ve come up with a activity option for my lunch time; a walk around the neighborhood that just *happens* to give me chances at between 2 and 6 Pokestops (depending on the exact walk). Given that stops are otherwise non-existent near the house here in Wingate, it’s a win-win!!
