Next to last Friday of the Dog Days! I realize at this point next week we’ll be hip-deep in Dragon Con, so I review our (wacky) Dragon Con schedule. Feel free to touch base if you’re around and want to game or eat or drink or just hang out! I believe I will get to my marriage discussion tomorrow, though, Tabitha. It’s on the schedule. 🙂
Whew! Another bear of a commute today; traffic outside of Charlotte was backed up from an accident. I’m dog tired, but I wanted to get out another episode and get back in the thick of things! I told Chiaki how emotional the story of his co-dogwalker made me, and expressed my enjoyment of Mark’s audio drama, “Note to self at age 7”.
Just a little car episode…I hit episode 150 today, but I also missed posting an episode last night! I just crashed out at the townhouse after a long drive and a busy day. I’m going to do my best to get both this and another episode out today, just to get back in sync. It doesn’t change the fact that I missed a day, but at least I’ll be back in the correct numbering scheme!
I was planning on replying to Tabitha’s request for discussion about marriage, but I’m postponing it a day. Instead, I had a few “slice of life” moments to share. 1) My bluetooth headset has died! It sucks; I have a backup, but it’s pretty janky; I need to get a new one. 2) I have come up with an excellent way to listen to podcasts while working; I Google Cast them to the TV! Great audio, and no bluetooth connection issues (there they are again!) to the phone. It still distracts me a tiny bit, but for whatever reason, it doesn’t seem to bother me as badly from the TV. (this may indicate that I’m a chlid of the 70s and 80s…). 3) I’ve come up with a activity option for my lunch time; a walk around the neighborhood that just *happens* to give me chances at between 2 and 6 Pokestops (depending on the exact walk). Given that stops are otherwise non-existent near the house here in Wingate, it’s a win-win!!
Today, I started with a little commentary about my hummingbird feeders, but I mainly focused on my document scanner, a Fujitsu iX500, and how it has moved me towards the paperless office.
(Oh, and I did this podcast at lunch, so no #BeerOfTheMoment, but I’ll be finishing off the D9 Swell Rider later tonight!)
Tonight, I mainly talk about gaming: I was inspired both by Joules Watt’s podcast on the subject, and also our play this evening of Ascension: Immortal Heroes. Great game, and great opportunity to talk about how much I like them. If you’re going to be at Dragon Con and want to play something, let us know, and hopefully we have it! (or just buy it at Dragon Con to play…LOL)
Happy Saturday, all! Been a busy day, so the scanner review will have to wait for tomorrow. Today, we prepped my step-daughter’s room as a nursery, reorganizing things, adding a crib, etc. The experience of the day gave me a chance to think about things that are coming. There will be a baby in my life for the first time…it’s going to be interesting! I hope to make our home a safe place for her to perhaps become interested in games, science, science fiction, and all things geekish!!
Happy Friday! I was going to talk about my of my prepared topics, but instead I managed to bang up one of my hands and one my feet! Fun times…I’ll be fine, but it was a pain in the ass. We’ll do better tomorrow!!
It’s a “talk about Ken’s day” episode…I had a late night last night with a work app migration that went somewhat awry (though all was well by about 3:30am!). Did some bird feeding outside, etc. today, and while I was out I listened to podcasts, and heard David Jacob’s talk about motion sickness. I know *all* about that…I can’t ride any spinny-style rides anymore, and in fact I get spontaneous vertigo now on occasion. Super fun! We’re halfway through the Dog Days, and I’ll talk to you again tomorrow!
Trying to catch up! I fill in a bit on our trip from Atlanta yesterday, and I um…well, I admit that *maybe* we did a bit of Pokemon capture! I thank Amy Bowen for her appreciation of KAZ Monday night on Mad At Dad, as well. Dog Days podcasters are awesome, and Mad At Dad had three of them that night! I express hope that Charlotte will start her podcast tonight, and wrap up with my beer of the night (because all the cool podcasters drink while they work…). See ya tomorrow!!
