Interesting
Python Scripting For .NET FAQ: Python Scripting For .NET provides Python programmers with near-seamless integration with the .NET Common Language Runtime (CLR). Using this package you can script CLR applications or build entire applications in Python, using CLR services and components written in any language that targets the CLR (Managed C++, C#, VB, JScript, etc.).
Joy!
The Py Manual. I’ve reviewed PyCrust before, but not recently. The whole Py appsuite has matured significantly, and PyCrust now does dropdown auto completion, calltips, etc., which I’ve been lusting for (and could only find previously in the Pythonwin environment, which is WinX-only). PLUS…there’s apparently a new editor PyAlaMode, which, if it has similar functionality, WILL be my new Python editor! Bleeding edge wxPython, here I come! *grin*
Criminy…
Boston Globe: Wolfowitz interview draws fire: European critics of the Iraq war expressed shock yesterday at published remarks by a senior US official that seemed to play down the importance of Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction as a reason for going to war.
CNN: Pentagon challenges Vanity Fair report: A Vanity Fair article “misrepresents” statements made by Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz about U.S. justification for the invasion of Iraq, Pentagon officials said. The quotes in the article were shortened and thus out of context, one said.
The Pentagon’s transcript of the report is at DefenseLINK
Good stuff…
Ottawa Citizen: U.S. says Canada cares too much about liberties
This time, I’m serious…
OK…here’s the deal. I’ve turned over a new leaf. The architecture here at kenzoid.com has changed slightly (as it is…um…wont to do every couple of months. Hey, I get bored! *grin*). But I’m burning some bridges this time. I finally managed to set up properly (ie, read the docs for) using Apache2 instead of Apache1 as my virtual hosting frontend (right now, the site proper is rendered in Zope and Plone ).
But Apache2 gives me a lot of cool stuff…I’ve been wanting to use it. I can now use the subversion apache module to host a source repository , and the mod_python module for Apache2 is also packaged for Debian now, so I can move forward again with Quixote . Excellent!
So I’m drawing a line in the sand. I love OpenACS and all, and I’ll still use it at work, but for my personal site, I’m permanently dumping AOLserver and Apache1. In addition, I’m moving off off a Zope-based content site ASAP, giving preference to Quixote. I also want to start playing with Twisted again when I get the chance…but site-flip to Quixote comes first. I’ll work on the CSS, but don’t be surprised if it isn’t nearly as pretty at first (Plone does look pretty sharp, I have to admit). But even though Zope is Python-based…it’s pretty unique (read: wacky) WRT how sites are designed. I just can’t wrap my head around “the Zope Way”. With Zope and Plone, I’d struggle to do anything that wasn’t pretty standard stuff. Ick!
That’s it. If you see me switch this site back to OpenACS, you should razz me mercilessly. Vive la Python! (oops…sorry Lee! *grin*)
Wow…
Senator Santorum (3rd-ranking Senate Republican) on homosexual acts and privacy (the unedited interview)
More comments: pro – Santorum ,and not .
My take? I accept that people have differing views…but this one frightens me. He’s equating acts between consenting adults with bestiality and molestation of children. If I lived in Pennsylvania, I’d vote for about anyone before I voted for this guy.
Holy frijoles!
Wowzers. A month it has been. Been a little busy, to say the least; the BigCo media conglomerate that I work for has a very high-profile website and on-air presence that was impacted by War traffic/coverage. The importance of maintaining 100% uptime for both sent our production administration into “lockdown” mode…ALL migrations to production went far up the CoC and were subjected to high levels of scrutiny. The projects that I admin for were not directly impacted (only one supported on-air directly, and it was minor), but everyone was impacted at least indirectly. Making a long story short; it’s been a stressful month in Kenland.
